Lynn Hershman Leeson is currently working on a feature-length
documentary about the revolutionary feminist art movement. Entitled
Women Art Revolution the film gives Hershman Leeson’s personal
perspective on the movement through archival footage, interviews and
artworks. This Masterclass is a rare opportunity to see the film in
progress and to discuss the developing work with the artist.

American artist Lynn Hershman Leeson is widely acknowledged as a
leading pioneer of interactive computer and net-based media art. She
has exhibited throughout the world and was featured in the recent
touring exhibition WACK! Art and the Feminist Revolution, organized by
the Los Angeles Museum of Contemporary Art. A major retrospective of
her work, Autonomous Agents: The Art and Films of Lynn Hershman
Leeson, was held at Whitworth Art Gallery in 2007.

In discussion with Lynn Hershman Leeson will be Jackie Stacey
(University of Manchester), Rosemary Betterton (Lancaster University)
and Clare Johnson (University of the West of England).
