20 APRIL 4.30pm, Main Galleries
Jean-Marc Bustamente will give a pre-opening gallery talk on his Henry Moore Institute exhibition, Jean-Marc Bustamente: Dead Calm. He will be discussing the themes of his work within the context of this exhibition. This is the first major exhibition of Bustamente’s work in the UK.
Born in Toulouse in 1952, Bustamente has been a significant figure in the international art world since the mid-1980s, through his work and teaching. This exhibition, made especially for the Henry Moore Institute, brings together two areas of his practice, and explores the relationship between sculpture and photography.
This event is followed by a second talk at Whitechapel Gallery in London on 21 April, where Bustamante will discuss the relationship between different media in his work with former head of the Henry Moore Institute, Penelope Curtis.
