2010 film by British director Lucy Walker about the transformative nature of art and the beauty of the human spirit.

It follows Brazilian contemporary artist, Vik Muniz in a collaboration with the rubbish pickers of Rio de Janeiro as he photographs them and then together recreate the portraits into giant mosaics using scavenged material from the metropolis.

Winner of the audience award for world cinema documentary at the Sundance Film Festival and the Berlin Panorama festival and the Human Rights film award from Amnesty International and a whole host of others, Wasteland will leave you on a high (despite the rather bleak sounding name).
