Manchester Jewish Museum (MJM) is seeking enthusiastic and self-motivated volunteers to take on a variety of roles in the museum. Roles include tour guide, shop work and gallery invigilator. All roles will be subject to the completion of full training and CRB checks.
Volunteers make the visitor experience at MJM friendly and welcoming.
Volunteers will gain skills and experience of engaging with museum visitors and an understanding of working in a museum environment, both front of house and behind the scenes with its collections.
This role will involve taking visitors on guided tours of the museum. The tours are based around life in Jewish Manchester in 1912 and tell tales of charity, sweat shops and the titanic.
Manchester Jewish Museum has a small but successful gift shop. Volunteers are required to use the till and display an excellent standard of customer service.
Manchester Jewish Museum has an exciting programme of changing exhibitions and gallery invigilators receive full training to talk to visitors about exhibitions and answer their questions.
