Francesco Manacorda, Artistic Director, Tate Liverpool

This talk will explore how Tate Liverpool is experimenting with exhibition narratives, design and interpretation to pilot ways of empowering the audience in the creation of knowledge as part of the museum experience. Examples from the current Constellations displays and from the exhibition Art Turning Left will be discussed.
Francesco Manacorda has been Artistic Director at Tate Liverpool since April 2012. He was previously Director of Artissima, the international fair of contemporary art in Turin, and Curator at Barbican Art Gallery, London. Francesco has edited and co-edited publications, Radical Nature (2009) and From Futurism to Arte Povera – Portrait of a Collector (2005). He has been Visiting Lecturer in Exhibition History and Critical Theory at the Curating Contemporary Art department at the Royal College of Art, London, since 2006.
